Plant Friendly Programs

We believe in replenishing our earth’s natural resources and lowering our carbon footprint.

One-for-One Tree Planting Program

Candlelight donates a tree to areas identified as the greatest need for each cabinet sold through our partnership with the National Forest Foundation. Over the years Candlelight has donated or gifted over 60,000 trees on behalf of our customers.

EPA TSCA Title VI

All wood components utilized in Candlelight products comply with the EPA Title VI regulation limiting the amount of formaldehyde emissions.

Waste to Energy

Candlelight partners with Covanta, a waste-to-energy facility that receives our non-hazardous waste otherwise destined for a landfill and combusts it to generate steam for electricity generation.

Painted Products

All Candlelight finishes meet or exceed state and federal regulations. Unusable painted products are processed in our distillation unit to reclaim the solvent. These reclaimed solvents are used to clean our finishing equipment, and excess waste is sent to a facility that incinerates it safely and responsibly.

Recycling, Repurposing, & Waste Reduction

Our materials, such as cardboard, scrap metal, wood, and scrap plywood, are recycled or repurposed whenever possible. To reduce waste, Candlelight utilizes material-optimizing machinery. Our scrap plywood is donated to local schools for use by their students in their woodshops.

Air Quality

Our Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) has helped to reduce Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) by 60%. RTOs are designed to destroy Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), VOCs, and odorous discharge during industrial and manufacturing operations. RTOs achieve a 98% emission destruction rate through high-temperature thermal oxidation. This process combines temperature, residence time, turbulence, and oxygen to convert pollutants into carbon dioxide and water vapor.
